Week 41: What’s That Noise?

“If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” is a philosophical through experiment that raises questions regarding observation and knowledge of reality. Dial that back to “If a tree falls in a forest and it is covered in Spanish moss, does it soften the blow? We could ponder these questions, or we could just enjoy the image of the ghostly moss dancing up and down the fallen tree trunk, in this case a long leaf pine in rural Manatee County near Rye Road. The afternoon sun backlit the moss and I couldn’t pass it by.

  1. Talk about thinking outside the box. I’m wondering how many of us would have seen that fallen tree and thought about this particular theme. Great job, Liz.
