Week 13: High Above

Big, bold thunderheads provide a lot of drama to Florida’s summer skies. These billowing behemoths were towering over homes in my neighborhood as I drove by this pond that opened up the view. I continued home, grabbed my camera (What? It wasn’t with me!?) and returned to the scene to find it unchanged. I was so happy to capture the scene. It make me want to go out and buy some Hershey bars and graham crackers.

Week 12: Reflections

A lounge in the Sarasota Yacht Club has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the marina. The light from outside plays off all the bottles at the bar. It’s a dazzling sight.

Week 11: Solitary

Sometimes I take a short cut through the alley behind a neighborhood strip mall. On this particular day, a flash of orange and yellow caught my eye from the adjacent retention pond as I drove through. It was a solitary canna (or canna lily, although not a true lily), blooming all alone, brightening my morning.

Week 10: Shot Through Glass

Grey Goose, one of the world’s premiere vodkas, has an imaginative bottle design. I shot through the Grey Goose La Poire (pear) bottle to showcase the back inside of the bottle, which as you can see, is imagery of pears. Leave it to the French to incorporate a country scene in a bottle of booze. I’ll drink to that, and to my husband’s 70th birthday today!
