The September sun coming from the west across the Pacific Ocean provided a stunning backlight for these wildflowers on the Monterey Peninsula seacoast. Their graceful long stems bending with the wind didn’t hurt their photogenic value, either!
On a recent trip to California, we discovered the most quaint little place called Pacific Grove on the Monterey Peninsula. Deer roam on the front yards and the homes seem right out of the mid-20th century, not that they are of a “modern” design so much as it feels like you are in a bit of a time warp. This fence might be out of place in my deed-restricted neighborhood, but in Pacific Grove, it is right at home.
